“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth, sooner or later that debt is paid”

This was a quote in the show Chernobyl that hit me. It is so profound and has so much meaning. There is so much in that quote to unpack and think about.

A few things that come to mind that feel like large willful lies to me: The U.S. Debt, type II diabetes being solved with a pill, and going to college and taking loans regardless of the cost / ROI.

I’m sure that I’ll think of other examples that are more personal in nature, but I do believe that this is an altruism in humanity. Probably something to keep in the back or front of our minds.
